Bespoke Corporate and Leisure Knitwear

Contract knitwear is regularly made for all market sectors including airlines, financial institutions, healthcare, hotels and transport.

We offer UK-made and off-shore-made services, depending on the quantity and style. A usual minimum for off-shore is 250-300 pieces and for the UK is 48.

Fashioned bespoke knitwear
Our modern Shima Seiki knitting machines are perfectly suited for the fashioning of ladies knitted jackets. You can add your own corporate colours to the existing stock designs for a minimum of only 24 garments per style and 6 per size.

Leisure and retail
Fashion and more traditional styles can be manufactured using high tech yarns such as Nanotech-treated or Teflon treated Wool Blends and 100% Pure New Merino.

Jacquard and intarsia
Intarsia golf patterns and jacquard designs are also possible using our highly versatile and technically advanced knitting machinery

Bespoke School Knitwear

School cardigans
Traditional style with raglan or set-in sleeves – with or without stripes in neckband, cuffs and welt.

Modern fashioned style with integrally knitted button holes and V neck. With additional option of contrast stripe in welt and/or cuffs.

Striped Pullovers
Striped school sweaters can be made in a wide range of yarns and in a variety of weights and fabrics. These include: • standard-weight 10 gauge all-needle • medium-weight 7 gauge single-bed • heavy-weight 7 gauge all-needle The usual minimum is only 24, and 6 per size.

Scarves & hats

Knitted Scarves
Scarves can be made to order in any colour and in a variety of yarns for a minimum of just 24 pieces. • Plain or striped • Heavy-weight or medium-weight • Tasselled fringe • Tubular jacquard

Woolly Hats
Matching hats can also be made with a minimum of 24. • Beanie or turned up • Plain or striped

Bespoke Yarns

NewTPA Tumble-dry Premium Acrylic
A new yarn specifically designed to have a soft handle, and yet to resist pilling. It is also machine washable, tumble-dryable and can be cool-ironed. Our new raglan school sweaters are in this yarn, and in due course all of our stock acrylic knitwear will be in New TPA. Machine-washable and tumble dryable.

Teflon-treated 50% Merino Wool 50% Acrylic
The Merino Wool used in our Wool- Blend gives a soft handle to this versatile yarn. Teflon-treatment adds water-repellence and stain-resistance, and also makes the fabric highly resistant to pilling. Machine-washable.

Nanotech-treated 70% Wool 30% Nylon
Our top-of-the-range yarn, Nanotech treated Wool-Nylon is practically impermeable to water, stains and odours and is therefore virtually self cleaning. In addition, pill-resistance is very good, and the handle very soft. Machine-washable and tumble-dryable.

Wool-Nylon
Favoured by many traditional schools, our Wool- Nylon yarns are extremely hard-wearing. They can be knitted into a variety of weights, including heavy 4-ply and 6-ply styles. 80% Wool 20% Nylon is used for bespoke styles. Our new stock fully-fashioned school sweater is 60% Wool 40% Nylon. Machine washable.

Bespoke Knitwear: Gauges and Fabrics

UK manufacture
In-house, we can make 10gg and 7gg knitwear with weights from 360gsm to 880gsm. Manufacturing techniques are cut-and-sew and fashioned. The usual minimum for bespoke styles is 24 and 6 per size, with a lead-time of 4-6 weeks. Fabric types include all-needle, half-milano, cable, intarsia and jacquard.

Off-shore manufacture
From off-shore we can also make 12gg, 14gg, 21gg and 5gg; cut-and-sew and fully fashioned. The usual minimum is 250-300 pieces with a lead-time of 12 weeks.

Bepoke Cricket Sweaters

Bepoke Cricket Sweaters Cricket Sweaters and Slipovers A brilliant way for clubs to show their colours, Balmoral’s cricket sweaters can be made to order for a minimum of just six garments per style, with 2 per size. Club colours can be knitted into the neckband, the waistband and the cuffs. A huge range of striping shades are available. Recognised as the best quality available in the UK market at very competitive prices.

Bespoke Polo shirts, Fleeces and Jackets

Bespoke garments can be made to order for corporatewear and schoolwear. Polo shirts are made off-shore for a minimum of 500 pieces. In fact, most of the stock styles shown on pages 23 - 31 can be made in bespoke styles - tracksuits, jackets, fleeces, all pre-embroidered, with contrast trim and bespoke labelling. In addition, some of the fleece and jacket styles can also be made in the UK, minimum 48.
